Holidays with a baby: an all-inclusive guide for parents

A first holiday with a baby takes a little preparation, but with good planning both you and your little one will come home rested. At an all-inclusive hotel, having less to worry about when it comes to meals and cleaning makes life much easier for families with babies. We've gathered the questions we hear most often from parents, along with our tips.

When booking

• Let us know about needs such as a baby cot when you book.
• Spacious rooms or family rooms make it easier to fit a pushchair and all your gear.
• If possible, ask for a room close to the children's pool and the restaurant.

Travelling

• Try to time your journey around your baby's naps.
• If you're driving, take frequent breaks and always use a car seat.
• Keep baby food, nappies, wet wipes and a change of clothes in your hand luggage.

Feeding

You can pick suitable foods for your baby at the buffet restaurants, but we recommend bringing the formula and special products your baby is used to. If you have any special requirements, just ask our restaurant team.

Sun and heat

• Keep babies under six months out of direct sunlight; stay in the shade.
• Dress your baby in thin, light-coloured clothes and a hat.
• Keep them well hydrated with frequent water or breast milk.
• Resting in your room at midday does both baby and you good.

Sleep routine

Babies may need a few days to settle into a new place. Keeping up your home bedtime routine (bath, story, the same blanket) helps them adjust. If you'd like to join the evening entertainment, plan around your baby's bedtime.

• Nappies, wet wipes and nappy rash cream
• Baby sunscreen and a hat
• Fever reducer and any medicines your doctor recommends
• A favourite toy and blanket
