Sustainability and our policies
The principles we follow to protect Yanışlı Bay, whose nature we so admire, for future generations, and to fulfil our responsibilities to our employees and to society.
Our approach to sustainable tourism
At Ulu Resort Hotel, we see protecting the nature, sea and local culture of Yanışlı Bay as an integral part of our business. We support responsible tourism through our Blue Flag beach, our energy- and water-saving practices, our cooperation with local suppliers and our equality principles for employees. Below you will find the policies that form the basis of this approach.
Women's rights and gender equality policy
We attach great importance to gender equality in our business.
- We ensure the health, safety and well-being of all our employees, regardless of gender.
- We support women's participation in the workforce across all our departments and offer equal opportunities.
- We follow an "equal pay for equal work" policy, without gender discrimination.
- We assign duties in accordance with the principle of equality.
- We provide the environment needed for career opportunities to be shared equally.
- We develop training policies and support women's participation and greater awareness.
- We create a working environment and practices that protect the balance between work and family life.
- We support women in taking part in company management and offer them equal opportunities.
- We do not under any circumstances permit women to be subjected to exploitation, harassment, discrimination, oppression, coercion, defamation or similar treatment. We are always aware of the value they bring to the world and to our organisation, and we support their presence.
Sustainable purchasing policy
In line with our commitment to sustainable sourcing, we attach importance to our suppliers and solution partners complying with the following principles:
- Having quality assurance, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, as well as internationally recognised environmental and sustainability labels and certificates;
- Causing no harm to the environment in production and supply, and complying with environmental legislation;
- Using resources without harming natural habitats and ecosystems, and complying with fishing and hunting bans;
- Working to minimise and properly manage their waste, and offering reduced packaging or bulk packaging alternatives;
- Offering alternatives that are environmentally friendly, resource-efficient, local, ethically conscious, recyclable or made from recycled materials, organic, vegan, cruelty-free (not tested on animals) and free from harmful chemicals;
- Being domestic and local producers or service providers;
- Offering products and services that reflect the cuisine, traditions and culture of our country and region.
We communicate this outlook to our supplier stakeholders and work with them to create efficient purchasing opportunities and to reduce the environmental impact arising from supply processes.
Energy efficiency policy
To protect our planet from potential harm, we use energy efficiently and set targets to reduce our energy consumption. To this end:
- In line with our responsibilities towards nature and our legal obligations, we follow national and international standards, laws and regulations; we voluntarily carry out work to continuously improve our energy consumption performance and monitor the results.
- We set targets and include energy efficiency in our training programmes to ensure the participation of our employees.
- We cooperate with our guests, employees, visitors and business partners to build shared awareness of energy management.
- We research, purchase and use energy-efficient products, equipment and technologies.
- We document our energy management system, roll it out to all our departments, and review and improve it regularly.
- We assess emergencies such as energy risks and energy shortages, and plan the measures that can be taken.
Children's rights policy
Children are entrusted to us as the future. Recognising them as individuals, respecting their rights, and watching over and protecting them against all forms of psychological, physical and commercial exploitation is our foremost responsibility. To ensure this:
- We do not permit child labour in our organisation and expect the same commitment from all our business partners.
- We provide environments in our establishment that contribute to children's development, where they can freely express their thoughts and feelings and feel free and safe.
- We train our employees in the prevention and recognition of child abuse.
- We make sure that children are supervised by adults during the activities they take part in.
- We organise training to raise awareness of the protection of children's rights and support related projects.
- If we witness a suspicious situation involving children, we first inform the hotel management and, where necessary, seek assistance from the official authorities.
